How to wear black v neck cashmere sweaters

When you combine the Cadillac of sweaters with the Cadillac of colors, great things fall into place.  When I was selecting my outfit for the day I realized I am totally one of the black v neck cashmere sweater women who tend to pair anything up with neutral colors.  Now, I am not saying you have to buy cashmere.  In fact, when it comes time to replace mine I am going to search for one in merino wool instead.  Why?  Personal preference, I bought the cashmere one because it was an after season sale.  Though cashmere is very soft, it requires too much maintenance and I hate having a wardrobe that is higher maintenance than I am!

While my v neck sweater is large and loose enough to layer, I make sure to avoid it looking droopy or sloppy by wearing it alone.  The cut of the v should be low enough to show what you are wearing under it.  I always pair mine with any of the camisoles I have.  The cut in mine is much too low to wear by itself as I am a well-endowed woman and my days of showing off the girls are gone and past.

For the most common ways to wear a black v neck sweater, you can’t go wrong with jeans or a skirt.  Feel free to accessorize as you wish, just don’t go overboard.  A nice colorful scarf, cute earrings, and short heels looks great.  You can also choose slacks or a grey pencil skirt and small clutch and you’re ready for the office.

Perhaps you want a splash of color, then go for a brightly colored shirt and matching shoes.  You can go with a pattern or stripped shirt under as well.  The important thing is that it’s all in the shoes.  You match up your under shirt with your shoes and you can wear the black v neck sweater with anything at all.
