How to style a women’s turtleneck sweater

Don’t go with the plain Jane look of wearing a turtleneck with jeans or dress pants.  However; there’s nothing wrong with that but there are several other ways you can dress up women’s turtlenecks.

First off don’t wear it by itself.  Think of a turtleneck as an ice cream sundae.  You have your vanilla scoops, which is your turtleneck, then you add bananas (leggings), chocolate syrup (necklace), and strawberry syrup (ankle boots), topped off by whipped cream and a cheery (earrings and pinned up hair).  Before you know it you have dressed up your plain vanilla white turtleneck to be a gorgeous outfit!

So what’s next?  Well, if you want to wear a white turtleneck sweater to work, you can add a skinny belt and add a classy pearl necklace.  You can also layer a blazer over a black sleeveless turtleneck for a professional look without overheating your arms.

Fashiondoxy.com has several to choose from.  Perhaps you are in college, the possibilities are endless.  A pink turtleneck sweater such as the Leala by Club Monaco is perfect for a nice casual cup of coffee on campus, in class, or wherever.  The Leala has ribbed edges, long sleeves, and chunky cable stripes to add a charming texture to the cropped turtleneck sweater.

Next, change it up a bit by finding a great form fitting turtleneck sweater with a leather skirt.  Take a look at the skinny ribbed turtleneck sweater by Vince.  The model wears it with slacks however; you can pair it up with a skirt and give it a bit of style.  You would want to pin your hair up so it doesn’t look like you don’t have a neck.  This is perfect for adding a nice statement necklace, a black clutch, and black pointed tip heels.

There’s nothing wrong with wearing a beautiful Ralph Lauren turtleneck with a suit.  Add a feminine flair to it with heels and you are ready for that next business meeting.
