How to accessorize and wear a tunic sweater

Ever wonder why celebrities can look great in just about anything, including a plain pair of jeans and white t-shirt?  It isn’t because they’re beautiful, their hair looks great, or they’re super tall.  The reason is they pick clothes with the perfect fit and style that suits them.

Now, not every celebrity does however most do.  They also have hair, makeup, and wardrobe stylists that pick out their clothing for them while they’re working so they already know what looks good on them.  Fashion cheaters is what I call them but if it works for them why can’t it work for you?

As I mentioned, the proper fit is key to looking great in a sweater tunic.  These should be worn with skinny jeans, leggings, tights, or slim fit slacks.  Never wear a skirt with a tunic because it just doesn’t go together.  The loose fit and flowing hemline will almost look like you’re wearing two skirts which is just wrong and tacky.

You can accessorize anything so feel free to wear your statement necklaces, earrings, and heels with a beautiful women’s red tunic sweater.  Tunics are long by default and all have different hemlines.  The best hems in a tunic sweater are asymmetrical.  This style works with the natural flow of a tunic and doesn’t cut off your leg lines too harshly.

Now let’s talk about necklines.  You can find a tunic in the same necklines as any other top however; just remember the hems will be longer.  So for example, if you find a cute turtleneck tunic sweater make sure it doesn’t look shapeless, boxy, or just plain frumpy on you.  You may wish to go down a size since the turtleneck sweater is typically a larger cut to begin with.  Make sure to pin your hair up, put on a cute pair of earrings and a statement necklace and finish off the look with skinny jeans and you’re good to go.
