Easy to Follow Pointers in Buying Shoes and Taking Care of the Feet

Most people wear shoes every day, all day! The adventure or mood affects choices in footwear. Will it be my brown boat shoes, or comfortable black shoes today? Shall I wear comfortable cute flats, or these pointy flats?

Whatever your preference and purpose, these pointers in buying shoes and caring for your feet will bring benefits to you.

Measure both of your feet, not just one. Many people have one foot that's a bit larger or longer than the other. For the best comfort, find shoes that fit your bigger foot.

Wear socks with your running shoes. If you do, your feet will come into direct contact with your shoes, possibly hurting your feet. In addition, you could experience foot fungus. Wear socks made of cotton and put some foot powder on in order to ensure dry feet.

Don't buy shoes unless you try them both on. You might not realize that the shoe is uncomfortable unless you do a test walk. For the best fit, try on shoes in a few different sizes.

Even if the weather is nice outside, you shouldn't wear flip-flops everywhere! Flip flops are fine if you are going to the beach but try to wear more supportive shoes the rest of the time.

Determine your arch type prior to purchasing athletic shoes. Wet the bottom of one foot and step down on some paper. The wet parts should let you see what your arch type is. If your arch is flat, then most of the footprint will be visible. If your arch is high, then the middle will not be visible. This is a good way to find the right fit.

When buying shoes for the kids, remember the growth factor. It needs a bit of extra space at the toe. Your child's foot can grow, but the shoe won't be too large. Sales clerks are great at making sure the fit is right.

If you seem troubled by the shoe learning process, these tips have made it much easier for you to figure out your sense of style. Use these tips to buy a new pair of shoes!
